  • Brooke Fisher and Roman Ibarra pocketed gold medals in their respective divisions Thursday, leading the Skyline Thunderbirds to 5th (girls) and 6th (boys) place finishes at the 10-school Abby Trapp-Prescott Crosscountry Classic held in Larned.
The meet is organized so that instead of the traditional varsity/ JV contests, there are 9/10 girls, 11/12 girls, 9/10 boys and 11/12 boys races. A team’s score is the highest 5 finishers in either race.
TMP won the girls division with 25 points. The Lady T-Birds were 5th with 120. TMP (26) also captured the boys division with Skyline’s boys scoring 85 to tie for 5th (but losing to Macksville in the tiebreaker to officially get 6th.)
Highlights on the day were sophomore Roman Ibarra winning gold in the 9/10 boys and senior Brooke Fisher breaking the tape in the 11/12 girls race.
