The first time the Lady Beavers and Lady Broncbusters met in volleyball this season, Garden City won via forfeit. Wednesday night at Dennis Lesh Sports Arena, they won by outplaying their hosts. PCC dropped the match 1-3 by scores of 25-13; 18-25; 11-25; 20-25.
The Beavers started off well, winning the first set in convincing fashion 25-13. The next two sets were a different story, however, as Garden City’s exceptionally athletic hitters began to get in rhythm. After losing the 2nd set 18-25, PCC seemed to come completely unraveled in the 3rd set. They seemed out of synch, committed numerous hitting errors and were whistled for various violations. The result was an 11-25 drubbing. GCCC up 2-1.
The 4th and final set began much as the previous two had gone. At 10-18 and down two sets to one, PCC’s fortunes on the night seemed doomed. But the Lady Beavers didn’t roll over. They began to mount a nice comeback and tightened the set at 20-23 at one point. However, service errors short-circuited the rally effort and Pratt eventually fell 20-25 in the 4th set, giving GCCC the match 3-1.
PCC slips to 3-14 (2-6 Jayhawk West) with the loss. The Lady Beavers hosted Hesston Friday night and will travel to Dodge City next Monday night.
    Soccer

The women are now 1-8-1 (1-5-1 Jayhawk) and the men are 1-7-0 (1-4-0 Jayhawk).
