  • The Skyline boys crosscountry team turned in another good performance Thursday at the 15+ school Sterling Invitational. The T-Birds finished 2nd with 57 points behind only 2A #1 ranked Ellinwood who posted 28.
    The Skyline girls did not have enough girls to qualify as a full team, so the Lady T-Birds ran as individuals.

    Skyline boys results: 6 Roman Ibarra 17:43; 11 Tony Ibarra 18:22; 16 Lucas Cason 19:01; 18 Colin Kumberg 19:07; 30 Khaleb Cason 20:16.
    “The gap between our runners is really coming down,” observed Skyline head coach Lynette Freeman. “Our 3-4-5 runners have really been pushing. That is really exciting as we come to the post-season.”
    Skyline girls results: 10 Brooke Fisher 16:49; 50 Ascha Lee 21:17; 51 Kadi Richardson 21:17.
    JV girls: 13 Briana Neifert 30:34
    JV boys: 3 Bryce McKennon 21:10; 21 Josh Moore 26:20
    9 girls: 8 Madalyn Owens 28:17
    9 boys: 12 Jared Shriver 22:39; 15 Garrett Bell 23:46; 16 Kendall Davidson 24:05; 22 Matt Giles 27:06; 27 Jarod DeWeese 32:00.  
    “All the kids did really well,” Coach Freeman concluded. “We had a lot of PRs and season-bests. We’re battling osme injuries, but everyone battled and finished their races.”
    Next up for the T-Bird harriers is the league meet next Thursday at Kinsley.
