  • Lady Beaver soccer on winning skein, men fall to Neosho
The Pratt Community College women’s soccer team picked up its 2nd consecutive win Friday at Neosho County, downing the Lady Panthers 4-1.
Coming on the heels of their triumph over Hesston last Tuesday, the win gives the Lady Beavers a 2-game winning streak.
In their last 10 matches, the PCC women have 3 wins and a tie, a tally which shows improvement being made by the young program.
The Lady Beavers upped their mark to 3-9-1 (2-6-1 conference) with the victory. They will host Independence on Tuesday this week at the Beaver Soccer Pitch, 2:30 p.m.
The Pratt Community College men’s soccer team was defeated by Neosho County last Friday at Chanute. They fell by a count of 3-1.
With the loss, the Beavers record drops to 2-9-0 (1-6-0 conference). The Independence Pirates come to town Tuesday for a match at the Beaver Soccer Pitch at 4:30 p.m.
Dean has day at the dish
Former Pratt High School Greenback and current Pratt Community College baseball player BJ Dean had a huge day at the plate in a scrimmage last week against Dodge City. Dean hit a 2-run homer in his first at-bat. He followed that with a grand slam in his second AB.
His third plate appearance resulted in a three-run shot, and Dean’s final AB yielded— you guessed it!— another 2-run home run. In the scrimmage Dean went 4-4 with 4 HR and 11 RBI. It doesn’t get much better than that!
