  • PCC soccer splits with Cloud County
The score in both games between Pratt Community College and Cloud County was 2-1. The homestanding Lady Beavers prevailed in a thrilling overtime victory, while the men were denied in a heartbreaker.
The win propelled the women’s record to 4-11-1 (3-8-1 conference). The men fell to 4-10-0 (3-7-0). The final home appearance this season for both clubs will be Saturday October 26 against Hesston College, with opening kick-offs scheduled for 2 & 4 p.m.
    VB falls to Seward County
In their final home appearance of the season, the Pratt Community College volleyball team gave visiting Seward County everything they wanted before falling in three sets. The Lady Saints won the opening set relatively easily 17-25, but then the Lady Beavers buckled down and pushed Seward to the limit in the next two sets. Pratt lost both sets, but only by the narrowest of margins— 23-25 in both.
A great service turn by Alexis Sanchez, including 3 aces, kept the Beavers close in set two. In set three, sophomore Ashlie Gramke did all she could to try to extend the match, collecting a kill, a stuff and a block on successive plays to bring PCC back. But it was not enough. Seward collected 3 sets and the match, but Pratt was right there with them all evening.
Five Lady Beavers were honored on Sophomore Night; Camera Broadnax (Arlington TX), Darian Konrade (Protection), Ashlie Gramke (Wichita), Haylee Eck (Marysville) and Alexis Blanchat (Andale). Also, managers Steven Walters and Allison Evans were recognized.
