Catherine Marilyn Riffey, died at her home on Tuesday, Nov. 26, 2013 at the age of 94. She was born Sept. 2, 1919 at Fairview, Mo., the daughter of Oscar and Ethel (Stipp) Montgomery. On April 12, 1942 she married Clyde L. Riffey at Fairview. He preceded her in death on Nov. 1, 1988.

Catherine was a member of The Old German Baptist Brethren Church at Sawyer. During her lifetime she was involved in Ashton EHU, Pratt Garden Club, Sew n' Sews and was a 4-H Leader.

She is survived by two sons, Larry (Brenda) Riffey of Pratt, and Charles (Karen) Riffey of Sawyer; two daughters, Becky (Dean) Thrasher of St. John, and Cathy (Lyle) Dauner of Mankato; 12 grandchildren, Kylie Riffey of Wichita, Kevin (Amber) Riffey of Pratt, Darren (Sara) Thrasher of Overland Park, Brian (Emily) Thrasher of Brownsburg, Ind., Rebecca (Nathan) Kejr of Salina, Christopher (Callie) Dauner of Topeka, Jennifer (Wyatt) Harris of Salina, Tanner Dauner and fiancée Jasmin Blass of Salina, Brandon (Hallie) Riffey of Sawyer, Angela (Dan) Storey of Lawrence, Erin Riffey of Salina, and Cherie Riffey of Pratt; 16 great-grandchildren, Drake and Ashlynn Riffey, Lila Thrasher, Asher, Abigail, and Levi Kejr, Charley Dauner, Ethan, Sawyer and Delaney Harris, Maddox, Hayden, Cara, and Eva Riffey, Olivia and Eleanor Storey; two brothers, Leonard (Maxine) Montgomery of Fairview, Mo.,and Joel (Sharon) Montgomery of Tallahassee, Fla., and a sister-in-law, Ruth (Riley) Montgomery of Bartlesville, OK.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Oscar and Ethel Montgomery; husband, Clyde Riffey; grandson, Charlie Riffey; brother, Riley Montgomery; sister, Marie Gascho; and a brother-in-law, Kenneth Gascho.

Visitation will be Friday from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. with the family present from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Funeral service will be at 2 pm. Saturday, Nov. 30, at the Old German Baptist Brethren Church at Sawyer. Burial will be at Ellenwood Cemetery, Sawyer.
