Ray Albert Harrison, age 99, passed away Dec. 19, 2013 at Kenwood Plaza, St. John. He was born Dec. 10, 1914 in rural Stafford County.
He was the son of Edward E. and Josephine (Dotts) Harrison and had been a farmer/stockman, contract pumper and lifelong resident of Stafford County. He was a 1933 graduate of Antrim High School, later serving on its school board and was a member of the First Baptist Church, St. John.
On July 18, 1936 he married Florabelle Pryor at Hutchinson. She preceded him in death in 1988.
Survivors include a daughter, Linda L. Bailey (Roger), Rogers, Ark.; two sons, Jim R. Harrison (Marlene), Buckhannon, W.Va., Reginald D. Harrison (Jo Nita), St. John; 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, Roger J. Harrison; two brothers, Henry and Bill Harrison; a sister, Louise Harrison and a grandchild.
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, Dec. 23, at Minnis Chapel, St. John, with Pastor Terry West officiating. Burial will follow at Fairview Park Cemetery, St. John. Visitation will be on Sunday from 1-7 p.m. with family present from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.
