  • Although team honors proved elusive for the Skyline thinclads, there were quite a few individual honors garnered by the Skyline boys and girls tracksters. Jessica DeWeese and Morgan Flowers were a potent 1-2 combination all season in the sprints. At State, senior Flowers captured the silver in the 100m while running mate DeWeese (frosh) pocketed the 200m silver. Those two girls gave Skyline 19th place as a team at State. Distance specialist Roman Ibarra qualified for State in both the 1600m and the 3200m. Although failing to score in either, Ibarra was the top freshman finisher in both races. The Skyline girls took 2nd at HOPL. In addition to Flowers and Jessica DeWeese scoring points in sprints, Taylor DeWeese contributed in TJ, HJ and 100mHH. Throwers Ashley Koirth and Shelby Bender pointed in jav and shot; and Brooke Fisher took medals in the distance races. Blake Lee (discus 2nd) and Dustin Weber (TJ, 110mHH) added points for T-Bird boys at HOPL.
