Republican politicians have become keenly aware in recent years that rhetoric based on falsehoods often makes a favorable impression among the Tea Party elements of their party’s base.


The latest example of this phenomenon is the bogus claim by GOPers that Barack Obama has been issuing more executive orders than most, if not all, of his White House predecessors — an issue I’ve addressed on several previous occasions.
