On Saturday, Sept. 14, 2013, the Holy Name Catholic Church in Topeka was the setting for the 1 p.m. wedding uniting Lindsay Holtz and Philip Roberts.  The celebration of the Holy Mass was performed by Father Alvin McMenamy.

Parents of the couple are Robert and Marcie Holtz, Topeka, and Rodger and Debra Roberts, Pratt.

Organist Sandy Carter played a selection of music before and following the Mass. Tim McCaffrey sang various selections during the ceremony. 

Altar server was Brendan Pribil.  Lectors were Meredith Schlicter, cousin of the bride, Patrick Vogelsberg, and Matthew Seidel. Guest book attendants were Christina Howell and Kimberly Brown, sisters of the groom.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her father.  She wore a strapless trumpet gown with soft ruffles on the skirt.

Sarah Overbaugh, sister of the bride, was the matron of honor and Abbey Holtz, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor.  Bridesmaids were Allyson Wetter, Megan Carson, and Rebecca Houser.

Ryan Roberts, brother of the groom, was the best man.  Groomsmen were Eric Thimesch, Josey Eastes, Christopher Culver, and Johnny Kane.

Tristan Roberts, nephew of the groom, was the ring bearer.  Madeline Overbaugh, niece of the bride, was the flower girl.  Ushers were Michael Holtz, brother of the bride, Garrett Marsh and Adam Schmidtberger, cousins of the groom, Mike Ray and Chris Westerhaus.

A reception, dinner and dance followed at the Agriculture Hall.

The reception table was attended by Marla Stucky, Lela Marsh, and Lila Brown, aunts of the groom. 

The groom’s grandparents are Marvin and Nancy Schmidtberger, Pratt, and the late Merle and Lorane Roberts.  The bride’s grandparents are the late Patrick and Margaret Reilly and Shirley Holtz.  The traditional wedding march was led by the groom’s grandparents.

After a honeymoon to Cancun, the couple is at home in Topeka.
