Ivan Dwight Adams, 102, died Tuesday, April 29, 2014 at South Wind Hospice in Pratt. He was born April 4, 1912 at home in Pratt County to Toney and Sadie (Williams) Adams.

He was a former member of the Cullison Methodist Church, transferring his membership to the Iuka Methodist Church. Ivan served on the Cullison Co-op board for over 30 years and had served as president. He also served on the Cullison School Board and the Cullison Church Board.

On April 3, 1935 he married Melva B. Combs at Pratt. She preceded him in death on Dec. 17, 2012.

Survivors include a son, Dwight Adams, Pratt; three daughters, Marjorie (Loren) Hemphill, Plainville, Marie (Bud) Grimes, Pratt, and Marlene (Tom) Whitaker, Clearwater; 13 grandchildren, Cindy Reynolds, Doug Adams, Troy Hemphill, Tonya McGough, Tyler Hemphill, Tricia Hull, Brad Grimes, Lisa Parsons, Craig Grimes, Michelle Snell, Melissa Schneider, Tammy Lewis, and Valeri McCalla, 33 great-grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild; a nephew, Richard Adams; and two nieces, Donna Hager and Leola Hartley.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Margaret Greiving; his wife Melva; four brothers, Harold, Clyde, Merle, and Carl Adams and a great-grandson, Aaron Hemphill.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and Friday at Larrison Mortuary 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m., Saturday, May 3, at the mortuary, with the Rev. Terry Stafford presiding. Burial will be in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Pratt.
