Two people were killed Friday morning when a car and pickup collided 5.1 miles northeast of Pratt on K-61.

Officers from the sheriff’s department and Kansas Highway Patrol were dispatched at 10:06 a.m. The road was closed for about two hours while officers investigated, but was reopened shortly after noon.

Sheriff Vernon Chinn said two people in the car were killed, but the driver of the pickup was not injured.

The Kansas Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
