If you have never seen John Davidson live…you now have a chance because he will be performing at the Pratt Community College Carpenter Auditorium on Thursday, May 22 at 7 p.m. under the sponsorship of the Pratt Community Concert Association (PCCA).
This is the last concert of the season. For nearly 40 years, Davidson has entertained audiences of all ages. All PCCA current season ticket holders are admitted with that ticket. If you just signed up as a new member of PCCA, you get to come free of charge.
“I hope everyone has enjoyed celebrating our 75th year of bringing live entertainment to the Pratt area, from the pre-concerts to the door prizes and the opportunity to wear your finery,” says PCCA President Jan Luttrell. “We will conclude the celebration with magnificent door prizes and refreshments after the concert,” she adds. The pre-concert entertainment will be furnished by the Sweet Adelines, beginning about 6:30 p.m.
Anyone who needs to purchase a season ticket for the 2014-2015 season may also do this at the door Friday evening. Previews of the coming season’s programs will run in the lobby prior to the show and at intermission.
Today’s audiences may remember John Davidson from his television career hosting his talk show, “The John Davidson Show,” or “That’s Incredible, and perhaps on “The New Hollywood Squares” or they may have seen his numerous appearances on variety shows or as guest host on Johnny Carson. He starred in “The Girl With Something Extra” and did an unforgettable impersonation of a crazed female in “The Streets of San Francisco.” Program highlights promised for May 22nd include popular love songs, a John Denver medley with guitar, comedy spots (senior marriage, getting old), a Kenny Rogers medley, and a banjo medley of 1930s songs.
A consummate performer, John Davidson has never been better.
