Jean (Newberry) Fiegel, 71, lost her fight with ovarian cancer at South Wind Hospice, Pratt, on June 1, 2014. She was born Sept. 1, 1942 in Attica, the daughter of Lloyd and Dorothy (Ball) Newberry. She graduated from Attica High School in 1960. She married Marion Fiegel on Sept. 10, 1960 at the St. Leo Catholic Church.

Jean lived all her married life in Pratt. She was retired after working 40 years at Dillons. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi for 50 years, many years not missing a meeting. She loved to travel with family and friends. She loved visiting her niece Shannon Russell in the different places she lived, especially Geneva, Switzerland and Tokyo, Japan. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Pratt and a member of Park Hills Country Club and loved to play golf.

She is survived by her husband; two sons Mitch (Allison) Fiegel, Wichita, and Monte Fiegel, Gardner; two grandchildren, Cole and Ty; four brothers, Richard (Virginia), Catoosa, Okla., Gary, Attica, Johnny (Trish), Enid, Okla., and her twin, Dean Newberry, Jacksonville, Fla.; four sisters, Margaret (Don) Heacock, Shreveport, La., Judy (Kent) McBrayer, Kiowa, Mary Lou (Rick) Service, Pond Creek, Okla., and Susie Yoder, Catoosa.

Jean had many friends. She had a saying “If you can’t overlook your friends’ faults you won’t have any.”

Visitation will be Wednesday from 9 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt. Vigil Service will be Wednesday, June 4th at 7 p.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Pratt. Mass of Christian Burial will be Thursday, June 5th at 10 a.m. at the church, with the Rev. Floyd McKinney presiding. Burial will be at 1:30 p.m. Thursday in the St. Leo Catholic Cemetery, St. Leo.
