  • Beaver spikers enjoy 3-1 weekend

  • Pratt Community College volleyball came out of the opening weekend 3-1.
    On Aug. 22 they beat Neosho in five (25-19, 17-25, 25-19, 22-25, 15-9) and lost to Fort Scott in four (21-25, 18-25, 25-23, 19-25).
    On Aug. 23 they were able to down both Wentworth Academy (25-14, 26-18, 25-18) and East Central College (29-27, 25-18, 25-7) in three sets.
    Leading the Beavers was outside hitter Jocelyn Cochran with 46 kills on the weekend and 60 digs. Cochran was selected for the all-tournament team for her performance. Kaci Copeland lead the Beavers defensively with 67 digs in four matches and Amber Cullwell was close behind with 60. The second leader in kills for PCC was middle blocker Jessica Sanders with 30.
    Pratt Community College volleyball has their first conference match up on Aug. 28, at Dodge City, followed by a weekend in Seminole, Okla. where the Beavers will match up against Seminole State, Clarendon, Trinity Valley and Butler.
