June 29, 2017: SOAP #2765: Amos 4-6; Psalm 86,87; Titus 1

Scripture:  Psalm (NIV) 86:8 Among the gods there is none like you, O Lord; no deeds can compare with yours.
9 All the nations you have made will come and worship before you, O Lord; they will bring glory to your name.
10 For you are great and do marvelous deeds; you alone are God.

Observation:   David, in his prayer to the Lord, comments on the great deeds of the Lord!   There is no god like the Lord!   The gods of the nations surrounding Israel were idols.   Idols can say nothing and do nothing!     Obviously, the deeds of the idol gods could in no way compare with the deeds of the Lord God of Israel!     They could not answer the prayers of their worshippers, not only because they could not speak, but also because they could not hear!    There is only ONE God!

Application:   What David had discovered as truth is just as true for me today.   There is no god like my God!

Prayer:     My God, you alone are God!   Your deeds are marvelous.   I am greatly blest to be your child, your servant! Amen
