September 26, 2017: SOAP #2854: Ezra 2-3; Luke 8

Scripture:  Luke (NIV) 8:16 “No-one lights a lamp and hides it in a jar or puts it under a bed. Instead, he puts it on a stand, so that those who come in can see the light.
17 For there is nothing hidden that will not be disclosed, and nothing concealed that will not be known or brought out into the open.

Observation:   To light a lamp, then hide it, defeats the purpose for which it was made.   Lamps are designed and created to spread light.   That is the reason for their existence.

Application:   As God's child, I should expect to be watched.   I should not be surprised when God places others around me who watch me.   It is my responsibility to give light so those around me can see the path as well as the dangers.

Prayer:     Holy Spirit, keep me clean and keep me full of your oil, so Your light can shine clearly through me.   Amen
