Scripture:  Job (NIV) 16:19 [Job speaking] Even now my witness is in heaven; my advocate is on high. 20 My intercessor is my friend as my eyes pour out tears to God; 21 on behalf of a man he pleads with God as a man pleads for his friend. 22 “Only a few years will pass before I go on the journey of no return.

Observation:   Job lived before Moses and the tabernacle which reveals so much about God's plan for man.   Yet, with in the heart of Job there is an amazing conviction that he had a Friend in heaven who was pleading his case.

Application:   Oh what a Friend I have in heaven.   He pleads my case by holding out nail-scarred hands before Father God.   He says, this is what I paid for Leon's sins.   Father, you have to forgive Leon; his sins have been paid for by my suffering and death.   The Father looks at His Son and forgives me!     How humbling is that!

Prayer:   Jesus, thank you for being my Friend and Intercessor.   Thank you for dying for my sins.   Thank you for your life within me to empower me to live in victory over sin.   Thank you that you are not just my intercessor in heaven, but my ever-present help here on earth.    Amen
