Seating is limited and reservations are still being taken for the Crane Tour and Program on Saturday, October 28 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at Quivira National Wildlife Refuge,
The day begins at refuge headquarters with a guided bus tour of the refuge and an opportunity to view bird populations at a spotting scope set up along the way. Six Whooping Cranes have been sighted at Quivira so far this fall.
After the tour group returns to the headquarters building, Barry Jones, Visitor Services Specialist, will present a special program on Cranes.
Cookies and beverages will be available following the tour, courtesy of Friends of Quivira.
Participants are encouraged to bring their own binoculars, although some will be available for loan from the refuge.
If you would like to participate in this event, call the refuge at 620-486-2393 and make your reservation today.
