March 14, 2018: SOAP #3023: Deuteronomy 25-27; Galatians 5

Scripture:  Galatians (NIV) 5:13 For, brethren, ye have been called unto liberty; only use not liberty for an occasion to the flesh, but by love serve one another. 14 For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself.

Observation:      Freedom/liberty is a precious gift from God given to those who by faith have received His forgiveness and have entered a special relationship with Him as His child.

Without freedom, it is impossible to prove our love.   With our freedom to choose, we reveal our love.    Our choices show that we are either self-loving or other-loving.   God's love is an out-flowing love.

Without freedom, God's creation of man loses its main value to God.   God's freedom to send His Son to die for sin proves His love for man.   Man's freedom to believe and serve God proves man's love for God.

Application:    When I choose to focus my love on others and use my liberty/freedom to serve others I find the joy in living for which God designed me.

Prayer:      Heavenly Father, how special that you designed me to enjoy loving, serving, and caring for others.   Indeed, I am made in your image. Thank you for giving me freedom, freedom to serve you and those I love.  Amen
