September 3, 2018: SOAP #3196:  Ezekiel 20-21; Psalm 111; Revelation 8

Scripture:  Psalm (NIV) 111:2 Great are the works of the LORD; they are pondered by all who delight in them.
3 Glorious and majestic are his deeds, and his righteousness endures forever.
4 He has caused his wonders to be remembered; the LORD is gracious and compassionate.

Observation:   The works of the Lord are great; His deeds are glorious and kingly; His wonders are not easily forgotten.   People rejoice as they think about God's works.   It is hard not to smile as one considers all that God has done.   God's actions are expressions of His character!   In God's works we see His power and wisdom, His holiness and love.

Application:   The works of God have long been the theme of songs, from Miriam's song in Exodus 15, to David's song here in Psalm 111, to Mary's song in Luke 1:46-49, and all the way to the church in the 21st century!     We have a long history of singing about the wonderful works of God!

Prayer:     Heavenly Father, thinking of the many things you have done for your creation and specifically for me"it makes my heart smile!     May my deeds bring joy to your heart!    Amen
