he Skyline High School boys' cross country team brought home another league title Thursday. Erik Ghumm and Jared Shriver both placed in the top five, leading their team to the win. On the girls' side, the Lady Thunderbirds had a good showing. For the second time this season, Madison Tyler set the school record in the girls' 5k.
Shriver and Ghumm set personal best Thursday, both finishing under 17 for the first time. Ghumm placed second overall and in the HOPL with a time of 16:46.18. Shriver took third place with a time of 16:51.24. Tyler Tobin also had his best race of the season. He finished fourth in the league and sixth overall. He set a new person record with a time of 17:39.37. Finishing ninth in the league and 20th overall, Garrett Bell finished the 5k race in 18:45.43. Colby Shriver also placed in the top ten in the league. Colby took 22nd overall and 10th in the HOPL with his personal best of 18:54.56. Michal Cimerman - 36th in overall and 19th in HOPL
Kendall Davidson - 40th in overall and 21st in HOPL
Dalton Kenworthy - 44th in overall and 23rd in HOPL
Jon Wiltshire - 48th in overall and 25th in HOPL
David Holmes - 53rd in overall and 28th in HOPL
Tanner MaGee - 54th in overall and 29th in HOPL
Jarod DeWeese - 55th in overall and 30th in HOPL
Garrett Novotny - 59th in overall and 32nd in HOPL
The Skyline girls' team also brought home several medals. Tyler broke her own school record in the girls' 5k with a time of 22:16.43. She placed fourth overall and second in the league. Katelynn McGraw also set a new PR at the meet. She placed seventh overall and fourth in the HOPL with a time of 23:27.48. Gracie Bricker also placed in the top ten, taking ninth overall and fifth in the league. She ran a 23:35.88.
Adison Hampton - 13th in overall and 8th in HOPL
Madison Adams - 27th in overall and 12th in HOPL
Stephanie Holmes - 29th in overall and 13th in HOPL
Corey Crouch - 30th in overall and 14th in HOPL
The Thunderbird cross country team will compete for a spot at state at the regional meet on Oct. 22. The regional meet will be held at Meade.
