After carding two of the top five individual scores at regionals, Pratt High School golfers Aubrey Meyers and Breane Farr earned trips to the 4A State Girls' Golf Tournament in Hesston yesterday. The girls battled the wind most of the day. Meyers placed 56th, shooting a 102 and Farr placed 53rd shooting a 101.

Meyers had one of the earliest tee times of the day, starting on hole ten at 9 a.m. She struggled the first few holes, shooting six over on ten and four over on 11. She turned things around the last three holes of the back nine, going bogey, birdie, bogey. She shot a 54 on the back nine. Meyers golfed with a group of four. The leading scores tied for a 51 after the first nine holes. As the day drug on, the wind picked up and the course began to back up. Farr had a 10:50 a.m. tee time but didn't get started until after 11 a.m. She also shot a 54 on the back nine, taking second in her group with four double bogeys.

Meyers shaved a few strokes off of her front nine. She started her next nine going par, bogey, double. She also pared the eighth hole, a 110 yard par three. She went into the final hole sitting at 43. She would bogey and finish the front nine with a 48. She shot a total of 102. Farr would also improve on the front nine. She started her final round with two bogeys; she had five total on her final nine. She would par the final hole to beat her teammate by a stroke. Farr shot a 47 on the back, finishing the day with a 101. She shot the best round in her group.

Meyers finished in a three way tie for 56th and Farr was also in a three way tie, for 53rd. Madison Slayton of Wichita Trinity won the day, carding a 79. Trinity took the top two spots, also winning the team title. The state round concluded the season for the Lady Greenbacks. Meyers, a sophomore, will look to improve next season. Farr is a senior on the team.
