Cunningham, Kansas — Kenneth D. Richardson, 83, passed away January 14, 2017, at Hilltop Manor in Cunningham. He was born Sept. 29, 1933, in Alva. Okla. to Estle and Mae Richardson. On June 22, 1952, he married Wanda (Bratcher) in Alva, Oklahoma.

He owned a microscope business for 22 years, was a chick sexor, was a college professor for 30 years and started the nursing program at Pratt Community College. Ken and Wanda were married for 64 years. He was a great husband, father, father-in-law, grandpa and great grandpa. He loved traveling and playing dominoes. He enjoyed spending time with family. He was in the Korean War as a code operator. Ken was the first in his family to obtain a master's degree. He was a member of the First Christian Church, Pratt VFW, Pratt American Legion and Pratt Elks.

He is survived by his wife Wanda of Pratt; daughter Cathy Graf (Victor) of Pratt; son Steven Richardson of Hutchinson; a sister Cleta Tatro of McPherson; grandchildren Jennifer (Aaron Tawzer) of Pratt; Emily (Matt Clouse) of Kingman; and a great grandson Jacob Tawzer.

Ken was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Charles Richardson.

Calling time for visitation is from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 17 at Ayres-Calbeck Mortuary, Pratt. The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 18, 2017 at the First Christian Church with Rev. John Havens presiding. Burial is at Greenlawn Cemetery in Pratt.
