Jerry Lynn Bertram, 74, died March 6, 2017 at the Hutchinson Regional Medical Center due to medical complications.
Jerry was born October 13, 1942 in Oakland, California to Carl and Velma (Smitherman) Bertram. He spent his life behind a microphone, starting out at KEDD Radio in Dodge City. Jerry then moved on to Wichita to fur- ther his career in radio and television broadcasting be- fore coming home to Pratt and joining the family auc- tion and real estate business.
On December 29, 1959 Jerry married Carol (Dittmey- er) and from that union two sons were born. On Octo- ber 7, 1991 he married Tammy (Hughes) and they have three children. She survives.
Jerry is also survived by three sons, John (Judy) Bertram and Dell (Hope) Bertram of Haviland, Jake (Kirstin) Bertram of Salina; two daughters, Jamie Wy- att of Pratt and Blane (Skylar) Shepard of Galva; three brothers, Ted (Sherri) Bertram of Kansas City, Missouri, Roger (Sharon) Banbury of Overland Park, Ray (Sue) Banbury of Pratt; three sisters Rebecca Anderson and Melissa Esfeld of Great Bend, and Sarah (Craig) Rich- ley of Lee Summit, Missouri; 12 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren.
Jerry was preceeded in death by his father Carl (Nancy) Bertram and mother Velma (John) Banbury. The funeral will be Monday, March 13 at 10:30 a.m.
at the Reach Church, 1000 E. 6th Street, Pratt.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials be sent to the Free Methodist Church, 1024 Maple Street, Pratt, Kansas 67124, where Jerry and his family attended
for many years.
In the hearts of family and friends his personal
warmth, his keen sense of humor and his loving concern for others will live on.
