Lawrence Eugene Winter, 90, of Medicine Lodge, KS, died Saturday, June 17, 2017 at Medicine Lodge Memorial Hospital, Medicine Lodge, KS.

He was born on June 12, 1927 in Wellington, KS, the son of Walter H. Winter and Matilda (Naasz) Winter.   On September 19, 1948 he married Eunice Mae (Kahmeyer) Winter in Nashville, KS.  She preceded him in death on August 8, 2015.

Lawrence was the former owner and operator of Winter Appliance Store in Medicine Lodge, KS and was a member of the Trinity Lutheran Church, Medicine Lodge, KS and the Lutheran Laymen’s League.

Surviving are four children, Connie (Tim) McElyea of Pratt, KS, Ken (Brooke) Winter of Cheney, KS, Londa Chadd of Wichita, KS, and Tim (Cheryl) Winter of Medicine Lodge, KS; 24 Grandchildren & 23 Great-Grandchildren; one brother, Leon (Shirley) Winter of Kingman, KS; one brother-in-law, Melvin Goertzen of Inman, KS.

Lawrence was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, one granddaughter, Lacie Ann Winter, one brother, Orville Winter, two sisters, Louise Winter Krause and Rosalee Winter Goertzen, and one son-in-law Ronald E. Hembree.

Visitation will be on Wednesday, June 21, 2017 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., with family present from 5-7 p.m. at Larrison Funeral Home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 22, 2017 at 10:30 a.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church, Medicine Lodge, KS with Rev. Dr. Michael Bingenheimer and Pastor Dennis Fangmeyer officiating.  Burial will be in the Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge, KS.

Memorials may be made to the Trinity Lutheran Church or The Lutheran Hour in care of the funeral home.
