Pratt, KS – Maxine Hoffman Shoup, 95, passed away Monday, July 3, 2017 at Parkwood Village in Pratt. She was born December 5, 1921 to Edward and Rosa (Elliott) Hoffman. On December 22, 1938 she married John Roy Shoup in Holly, Colorado.  He preceded her in death on December 22, 2004.

Maxine worked as an office manager for several doctors in the Larned area. She was a member of Pratt Presbyterian Church, book club and had a coffee group that she met with daily at Simply Southwest.  She enjoyed hiking in Colorado and was an avid golfer. She spent her 90thbirthday golfing with her children.

She is survived by her son, Mark (Rose Beilman) Shoup of Iuka; daughter, Betsy Shoup of Lakewood, Colorado; sister, Elizabeth Brady of Lakewood, Colorado; four grandchildren, Julia (Kevin) Bernard of El Cerrito, California, Melissa (Daniel) Bosworth of Denver, Colorado, Logan Shoup of Alma, Nebraska and Will (Allie) Shoup of Newton; and three great grandchildren, Owyn and Camdyn Bernard and Elijah Bosworth.

She is preceded in death by her husband, John; parents, Edward and Rosa Hoffman; daughter, Carol Shoup Sanders; grandson, Jeff Sanders; two brothers, Dean and Jean Hoffman; and three sisters, Ethel Beaman, Esther Pings and Dorothy Johnson.

Cremation has taken place.

Friends may sign the book Thursday and Friday from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt.  Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 8, 2017 at Pratt Presbyterian Church with Pastor Stephen Wing presiding.  Private inurnment will take place at Cimarron Cemetery, Cimarron at a later date.
