An Amarillo, Texas man was injured Aug. 5 when his semi was blown over just west of the Pratt/Kingman County line on U.S. 54.
An Amarillo, Texas man was injured in a one-vehicle rollover Aug. 5 near the Pratt/Kingman County line on U.S. 54.
Richard Archer, 57 of Amarillo, was in injured when the 2013 Freightliner semi he was driving westbound on U.S. 54 just west of the Pratt/Kingman County line was blown over on the passenger side and slid down the highway, coming to a stop with the trailer in the ditch still attached the semi cab that was on the north shoulder of the highway, according to the Kansas Highway Patrol accident web site.
Archer was transported to Pratt Regional Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries. Archer was able to get out of the semi cab by himself. He was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the accident that was reported at 5:17 p.m. on Aug. 5.
One lane of the westbound traffic was blocked by the accident and traffic was pushed to one lane so the highway did not have to be closed.
Pratt County Sheriff officers, Kingman County Sheriff Officers, Kansas Highway Patrol Officers, Pratt County EMS, Pratt County Rescue and Kansas Department of Transportation assisted at the scene.
