HUTCHINSON — Janet Gail Branscom, 64, died on September 19, 2017 at the Hospice House of Reno County. She was born October 7, 1952 to Irvin and Marcella (Link) Melcher in Great Bend, Kansas. On October 12, 1974, she married Earl “Brad” Branscom in Hutchinson, Kansas at St. Teresa’s Catholic Church. Janet was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church of Hutchinson. Preceding her in death were her parents, a sister, Margaret Melcher and her husband, Earl “Brad” Branscom. Survivors include three children, Corey Branscom, Hutchinson, Cady (Jonathan) Helsel, Iuka and Callan Branscom, Abita Springs, Louisiana; four siblings, Jalayn Rowden, Littleton, CO, Doug Melcher, Pratt, Jeanne Penner, Hutchinson and Larry Melcher, Hutchinson; three grandchildren, Tyler Branscom, Alison Helsel and Wyatt Helsel. Visitation will be held on Sunday, September, 24th, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with the family greeting guests from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Monday, September 25th, at 10:00 a.m. at the Holy Cross Catholic Church, 2631 Independence Road, Hutchinson, Kansas. The Funeral Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. following the Rosary at Holy Cross. Father Aaron Spexarth will be the officiant. Burial will be held at the Turon Cemetery, Turon, Kansas.
