Lelia May Cotton, 84, passed away Monday, September 18, 2017 at Medicalodge of Douglass. She was born July 1, 1933 in Lake City to George Ray and Erma (McKenzie) Wesley. On December 27, 1955, she married George Thomas Valyer. He preceded her in death in October of 1978. She later married John Cotton on June 26, 1981. He preceded her in death August of 2008.
Lelia was a member of Late Bloomers. She earned her GED from Pratt Community College at the age of 52. She enjoyed being a stay at home mom, gardening and antique collecting.
She is survived by a son, George Thomas Valyer, II of Winfield; two daughters, Lurana May Day of Davidson, North Carolina and Rebecca Ann (Rich) Laird of Joplin, Missouri; nine grandchildren; and thirteen great grandchildren.
Lelia is preceded in death by her husbands, George Valyer and John Cotton; parents; and brothers, Ray Wesley, Jr and Eugene Wesley.
Cremation has taken place.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 28, 2017 at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Private family inurnment will be at Iuka Cemetery, Iuka.
