PRATT — Glen Wittig, 83, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2017 at his home in Pratt. He was born September 28, 1934 in Rozel, KS to Victor A. and Martha (Scheck) Wittig. On August 22, 1970 he married Janet (Wilcox) Hoeme in Pratt, KS. She preceded him in death in 2016.
Glen was owner-operator of Wittig Transport from 1961 – 2000, then he started Rustic Arts. Glen & Janet enjoyed trips to Mexico, Reno, Trail riding in Colorado, motorcycling to Sturgis and all over the United States. He also enjoyed motorcycles, metal work and working in his yard.
He is survived three sons, Roger (Rita) Wittig of Spring Hill, KS, Randy (Renee) Wittig of Spring Hill, KS, Rick (Autumn) Wittig of Pratt, KS, 8 grandchildren, Shane (Leah) Wittig of Petal, MS, Rachel (Derek) Broce of Pratt, Jace Wittig of San Francisco, CA, Jay D. Wittig of Atlanta, GA, Ryan (Taryn) Wittig of Pratt, Brent (Amy) Wittig of Pratt, Taylor Wittig of Spring Hill, KS , Lindsay Wittig of Spring Hill, KS, 11 great grandchildren, Lane, Cara, Connor, Emery Wittig, Jadyn Tillman, Juliet Broce, Brinley Wittig, Dmitry, Dylan, Destiny Lehman, Madison and Ashlyn Leach.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Janet, three brothers, Virgil, Harold, LeRoy Wittig, a sister, Virginia York, and two granddaughters, Christy and Stacie Wittig.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and family will receive friends Thursday from 1:00 p.m. – 2:30 p.m. at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Road, Pratt. Graveside service will be at 3:00 p.m., Thursday, November 9, 2017 at Cairo Cemetery, Cairo, KS with John Hamm presiding.
