A Pratt man, Scott McElroy, escaped injury after the 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse he was driving rear ended a pickup, flipped over on its top and struck a car sitting on the opposite side of the street in the 800 Block of South Hamilton on Dec. 23 just after midnight.

A Pratt man escaped injury early Saturday morning after his 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse rear ended a pickup then flipped over and hit a car on the opposite side of the street. The accident occurred just after midnight on Dec. 23 when Scott McElroy was southbound in the 800 block of South Hamilton in a 2003 Mitsubishi Eclipse and struck the rear end of a 2001 Ford F 150 pickup that was legally parked with no one in it and facing southbound at 810 South Hamilton. The Mitsubishi flipped upside down and then hit a 2012 Ford Fusion, that was legally parked and facing northbound on the east side of the street, on the driver's side front fender, said Pratt Police Officer Ken Wright.

McElroy , who was wearing a seat belt, was able to get out of the vehicle and refused treatment. Both the Ford F 150 and the Ford Fusion belonged to Jesus Perez of Pratt. Neither vehicle was occupied at the time of the accident that occurred just after Midnight, Dec. 23.

McElroy was taken to the Pratt Law Enforcement Center for questioning but was not placed in jail.
