PRATT, KANSAS — Pershing Rexroad, 85, went home to be with Jesus Monday, January 29, 2018 at South Wind Home in Pratt.  He was born June 3, 1932 in Morgantown, West Virginia to Harvey Newton and Ruby (Nixon) Rexroad. On October 22, 1956, he married Virginia Camille (Major) Rexroad. She preceded him in death on February 8, 2012.

Pershing received his Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering in 1956 from the University of West Virginia and a Bachelor’s in Computer Science in 1986. He was a member of First Southern Baptist Church in Pratt, Gideons International and was part of RSVP at Pratt Regional Medical Center. He had 20 years in the United States Army where he served during Vietnam and 20 years civilian Air Force as an Electrical Engineer. Serving the Lord was the biggest part of his life.

He is survived by his daughters, Tonya Camille (Tom) Donahue of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Jennifer A.R. (Steve) Ezell of Byers and Margaret Eileen (Jim) Webb of Pratt; brother, Benjamin Bliss Rexroad of Hudson, Ohio; sister, Ruby Juanita Mackie of New Berwick, Maine; grandchildren, Dillon (Sarah) Ezell, Gavin (Hannah) Ezell, Beth (Josh) Austin, Rebekah (Jason) Snider and Matt Donahue; four great grandchildren and another on the way.

Pershing is preceded in death by his wife, Camille; parents; brothers, James Oliver Rexroad and Harvey Nixon Rexroad; sister, Mary Cerenia; and two great grandchildren.

There will be no visitation.  Private family graveside service will be held at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.

Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, February 2, 2018 at First Southern Baptist Church, 193 Highway 61, Pratt with Pastor Steve Taylor presiding.
