Directors highlight new selections from the Vernon Filley Art Museum's two permanent collections.
A special selection of art exhibits is on display in the North Gallery of the the Vernon Filley Art Museum as of Saturday, March 24.
“We are featuring a new 'Permanent Collection Showcase Exhibition,’” said co-director Brittany Novotny. “This exhibition highlights pastels and photographs from the Dr. Vernon and Emily “Mimi” Filley Permanent Collection."
The exhibition also features new works of art that were recently donated to the museum permanent collection. Several of these pieces have not yet been on display at the museum. The seven newly accessioned works include a lithograph by R.C. Gorman that was donated to the museum in 2017 by Dr. James and Mary Ann van Blaricum; a bronze sculpture by George Lundeen donated to the museum in 2017 by Pratt Glass Enterprises, LLC and Superior Fire Equipment, LLC (LeRoy and Susan Jones); a ceramic vase and bowl (Carol Long Pottery) by Carol Long which were donated to the museum in 2016 by the Larrison Family and Doug Brehm a bronze sculpture by Tim Joseph commissioned and donated to the museum by The Shinkle Family in 2015; a spirited gear sculpture by Luis Perez-Aguayo that was donated to the museum in 2018 by Dale Withers; and the Court- yard Iron Gates by Dustin Sypher, which were commissioned and donated to the museum in 2014 by Doug & Kay Knight.
The new exhibit will be on display for public viewing through Saturday, September 29, 2018.
