BUHLER — Wickie W. Johnson, 76, died April 14, 2018, at Wesley Medical Center, Wichita. He was born July 12, 1941, in Pratt, to Burley and Estella “Billie” (Willard) Johnson. Wickie was a miller at Buhler Mills/ADM/Nabisco and retired Army National Guard Staff Sergeant Service Battery First Battalion 161st Field Artillery.

On June 12, 1965, he married Charlotte M. Simmons in Pratt. They shared 53 years of marriage.

Wickie is survived by: wife, Charlotte, of the home; daughters, Michelle Smith and husband Greg of Hutchinson, Kristina “Kris” Young; grandchildren, Tanner Young, Payton Young, all of Wichita; sisters, Carolyn Jantz and husband Roger of Hesston, Lauretta French, Pam O’Neal, both of Casper, WY, Wendy Smith and husband Troy of Wichita; brothers, Charles “Doug” Rice of Hutchinson, Roy Johnson and wife Mildred of Chester, OK; brother-in-law, Melvin Simmons of Wichita; and sister-in-law, Sharon Simmons of Pratt.

He was preceded in death by his father, Burley Johnson; mother, Estella “Billie” Rice; step-father, Charley Rice; and brother-in-law, Bud Simmons.

Graveside service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 19, 2018, at Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt. Friends may call from 1-7 p.m. with family to receive friends from 5-7 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2018, at Buhler Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Kansas National Guard Museum or Buhler City Park Fund, in care of Buhler Mortuary.
