County and city positions will be on the August Primary ballot. Filing deadline for candidates is noon, Friday June 1 in the County Clerk's office.
The filing deadline for the Aug. 7 Primary is noon, on Friday, June 1 in the Pratt County clerk’s office. Candidates for state level office have to file with the Secretary of State.
The general election is Tuesday, Nov. 6. Independent Nominations are due at noon, on Monday, Aug. 6.
Locally, there are two races. Pratt County Commission District 1 is up for election. Incumbent David Ward and Tom Jones have filed to run.
City Commissioner Luke Kumberg’s term is ending and he can’t run again because of term limits. So far, no one has filed for the position.
All the township clerk and precinct positions are also up for election.
The State Level races are: Governor/Lt. Governor; Secretary of State; Attorney General; State Treasurer; Commissioner of Insurance, all 125 State
Representatives, State Board of Education positions 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9, plus seven Kansas Court of Appeals Judges, District Court Judges (46 retained, 27 elected) and District Magistrate Judges (18 retained, 3 elected).
You may preregister to vote in Kansas if you will be 18 by Election Day. You must have proof of U.S. Citizenship to register.
