All veterans are invited to attend a celebration and appreciation at Liberty Middle School Wednesday, Nov. 11 at 8:45 a.m. in the auditorium.
Organized by the students in Mrs. Piland and Mrs. Foster’s advisor base groups, the assembly will feature members of the American Legion presenting the colors, followed by the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance and the singing of the National Anthem.
Guest speaker Todd Ash will address the student body and honored guests, followed by a short video presentation, an original essay by Jade Hoover entitled “What Freedom Means to Me”, and a letter of appreciation to American soldiers.
The assembly will conclude with a moment of silence in memory and honor of those who gave their lives for our freedoms, followed by “Taps” and the retiring of the colors. The public is invited.
