Free workshops for small businesses and entrepreneurs

The  Kansas Small Business Development Center at Cowley College will offer free workshops for small businesses and entrepreneurs in Pratt. The workshops are held on Feb. 22 at the Pratt Municipal Building. Register online at www.cowley.edu/ksbdc, email to ksbdc@cowleycounty.org or call 620-402-6440.

Meeting the 3Ms, 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

If you want to start a new business, the three Ms are critical. This seminar offers basic, yet essential information to consider about marketing, management and money for a new business. A variety of resources will be provided to you that will help you assess the feasibility of your business idea. We will wrap up with tips so you will be ready to start writing your business plan.

Writing an effective business plan, 1 to 3 p.m.

Thinking of starting a business? Need money? Then you need a business plan. According to the SBA, entrepreneurs who invest the time and effort into writing a business plan are six times more likely to succeed. Join the KSBDC as we walk through, step by step, how to write an effective business plan in order to obtain financing, set the direction of your organization, and identify potential market opportunities. Participants will receive a business plan outline, template and access to free KSBDC business plan consulting.

Cash flow made easy, 3 to 5 p.m.

Not sure what a cash flow is? Come and learn how to project business income and expenses. Learn how to calculate estimated monthly sales and cost by line item. Donald Cain will help you determine the amount of money needed for your project. A great seminar to understand future needs for a startup or existing business.
