The new owner of Pratt NAPA parts store isn’t quite done buying stores.
Tom Martin has just purchased a NAPA store in Hutchinson and is nearly ready to close the deal on two more NAPA stores. That deal should be completed on Jan. 2, 2010, Martin said.
The sale of the Pratt NAPA store was finalized on Nov. 1 and Martin likes what he sees in the store. He was impressed with the integrity and ethics of the Pratt Store. He is anxious to get the other stores purchased and create growth opportunities.
“I think it’s a wonderful thing to grow business,” Martin said.
Martin, who lives in Wichita, wants to run his stores following four policies: Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build good will and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?
Martin wants to do as much business locally as possible. He has purchased a new pickup from Doug Reh Chevrolet for NAPA district manager Rodney Walker.
“If you don’t support local people they won’t support you,” Martin said.
Martin has a varied background. He wrote a tool crib accounts program that saves Lear Jet $2 million a year. He has several rent-to-own businesses and was Rotary District governor.
