Pratt Community College President William Wojciechowski is scheduled for heart surgery the first thing Friday morning, July 10.
He will have bypass surgery and a valve will be replaced, said Jim Stratford, PCC vice president for instruction.
It will probably be late morning before he comes out of surgery. His condition was discovered after a heart catheterization Thursday, July 9 at Kansas Heart Hospital in Wichita, Stratford said.
Wojciechowski suffered chest pains during a Pratt Regional Medical Center Board of Directors Meeting Wednesday. He was walked to the emergency room then transferred by ambulance to Heart Hospital where he remains in cardiac intensive care. He is the chairman of the PRMC Board of Directors.
