A Pratt 2-month-old has been taken into protective custody after suffering internal head and soft tissue injuries.
Investigators are working with family to determine the cause of the injuries.
Early Thursday morning the child was admitted to the Via Christi-St. Francis Pediatric intensive Care Unit, said Pratt Police Detective Jeff Ward.
During the child’s treatment, physicians and caretakers at St. Francis diagnosed the child with internal head and soft tissue injuries. As a result of that diagnosis and Wichita Police Department investigation the child was placed in protective custody, Ward said.
Officers of the Wichita Police Department notified the Pratt Police Department of the situation and referred the case to them.
No other information is being released at this time.
