Obituary: Kenneth E. Nichols

 Kenneth “Kenny” E. Nichols, 77, died Aug. 15, 2010, at South Wind Hospice Home in Pratt. He was born March 20, 1933, in Nashville, Kan., the son of Wayne and Estella Palmer Nichols. A lifetime resident of Medicine Lodge, he was an office manager for National Gypsum Co., Medicine Lodge.

He was a US Air Force veteran, serving during the Korean War, and later served in the Army National Guard.

Survivors include: wife, Mary; mother, Estella, Medicine Lodge; thee daughters, Dawn Mackney, Vanessa Etheridge and Connie Dick, all of Medicine Lodge; a son, Rick Sallee, Wichita; a sister, Dorla Crevisour, Loves Park, Ill.; seven grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his father and an infant brother, Darrel.

Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at First Christian Church in Medicine Lodge. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Larrison Funeral Home, Medicine Lodge. Burial will be in Highland Cemetery, Medicine Lodge.

Memorials may be sent to the Barber County Veterans Memorial Wall or to South Wind Hospice in care of the funeral home, 120 E. Lincoln, Medicine Lodge, KS 67104. Condolences may be left for the family at www.larrisonmortuary.com
