Arthur Wayne Myers, age 71, died Saturday, Aug, 14, 2010, in Cambridge, N. Y. He was born Sept. 2, 1938, in rural Haviland, the son of Arthur E. Myers and Effie L. Horney-Myers-Miller. He served in the United States Air Force, stationed at Walker Air Force Base In Roswell, N.M.
Arthur was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and past master of Hutchinson-Reno Lodge #124 AF & AM of Kansas. He was a former member of the Midian Shrine, Reno County Shrine Club, and the Reno County Scooter Patrol.
He was retired from Westar Energy in Hutchinson and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In 1957 he married Betty Hayse and in 1999 he married Joyce Foster.
He is survived by his wife Joyce, a son, Bill and wife Terrie Myers of Sterling; two daughters, Christy Hard and husband Darren of Sterling and Lorilea Myers of Hutchinson; four grandsons, Brandon, Zac, Jake Myers and Justin Hard; a brother, the Rev. Dan Miller and wife Ann of Georgetown, Texas; two sisters, Linda Anderson of Winfield and Jeannie Davis and husband Dewain of Stillwater, Okla.
He was preceded in death by his mother Effie Miller, father Arthur E. Myers, and his stepfather Blaine Miller.
Memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 21 at Grace United Methodist Church in Coats with the Rev. Dan Miller presiding. Inurnment with Masonic Rites will be at the Coats Cemetery.
