Arleen Louise Powell, age 67, died Monday, June 22, 2009, in Victorville, Calif. She was born Nov.10, 1941, in Boston, the daughter of Arthur Soares and Mary McCaffrey. She was a secretery for Southwestern Portland Cement Company, where she worked for 20 years, and a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Apple Valley, Calif. Miss Powell lived in Victorville, Calif., for a little over one year and was previously from Cunningham. She was formerly married to Tom Powell.
She is survived by her former husband; two daughters, Jennifer (Reed) and husband Johnathan Woods of Pratt, and Charlene Black of Georgia; a son, Christopher Reed of California; three brothers, Bill Macedo and Roger Macedo of San Diego, Calif., and Arthur McCaffrey of England; and five grandchildren.
Graveside services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Greenlawn Cemetery, with the Rev. John Miller presiding.
Memorials may be made to the Susan B. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation. Friends may leave condolences for the family at www.larrisonmortuary.com.
