Robert E. Walsh, 67, passed away at his home in Cunningham on June 30, 2008, after a long battle with cancer. He was born Feb. 19, 1941, in Salina to Vera Fern and Ralph Walsh and was a former resident of Carpentersville, Ill. Bob was an avid racing and Nascar fan. He loved to fish and shoot his guns.
Survivors include his loving wife Stanna “Sue” and two minor children at home, a daughter, Jessica, 14, and a son, Jonathon, 13.
Also surviving are a son, John Cluchey and wife Amanda, Preston; a daughter, Mykaela and husband Mark Rice, Cunningham; four sisters, Darla and husband Preston Girton, Derby, Janis and husband Rod Horner, Kimberling City, Mo., Kathy and husband Steve Williams, Indian Trail, N.C., and Teresa and husband Cary Zimmerman of Florida; three grandchildren, Jesse Ferguson, Kevin Ferguson and Hailie Renee Rice; two sisters-in-law, Patricia and husband Eugene Ferguson, Cairo, and Nancy Walsh of Yorba Linda, Calif.; and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Jack Walsh; and a son, Larry Walsh.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. July 19 at Cunningham Community Center.
