Clifford Earl Brown, died Sunday, Jan. 22, 2012, at Pratt Regional Medical Center. He was born April 1, 1951, in Belleville, the son of Harold Eugene and Elizabeth Ann Henderson Brown.
Clifford was a member of Abundant Harvest Church of the Nazarene, Pratt. He taught at Pratt High School for 27 years and retired in 2008. He taught welding, career classes, and driver’s education. He coached junior high, high school and kids’ wrestling programs, and sponsored Fellowship of Christian Athletes. He was a member of KNEA teachers’ association.
Clifford grew up in Kinsley. During high school he was active in football, wrestling, and track. He graduated with a B.S. degree from Mid-America Nazarene University, majoring in physical education. He also earned a master’s degree from Pittsburg State University.
On Aug. 1, 1970 he married Janice Pollard in Burlington. He is survived by two children, Matthew Clifford and wife Amy, Grandview, Mo., and Kyle David and wife Laura, Tecumseh; his parents, Harold and Elizabeth, Courtland; four brothers, Doug (DeeAnn), Great Bend, Sam (Carlo), Courtland, Scott (Pam), Fargo, N.D., and Dale (Debbie), Great Bend.
Visitation will be 1-8 p.m., Tuesday and 9 a.m. – 8 p.m. Wednesday at Larrison Mortuary, 300 Country Club Rd., Pratt. Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at the mortuary.Funeral service will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday at Abundant Harvest Church of the Nazarene, Pratt, with the Rev. Scott Powell officiating. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery, Pratt.
