Mary ‘Marie’ Triplett

Mary “Marie” Triplett was born Sept. 29, 1936, in Caruthersville, Mo., to Robert Coleman Jones and Irene Wilks Jones.  Marie passed away Jan. 12, 2010, at the South Wind Hospice Home in Pratt, Kansas at the age of 73 years, 3 months and 13 days. Funeral with burial took place Jan. 16 in Caruthersville.  
Marie was united in marriage to Utry Triplett on May 7, 1954 in Hernando, Miss. The first 20 of their 55-plus years of marriage were spent with Utry serving in the United States Air Force. Utry and Marie moved to Pratt in 2004 to be closer to family.
Marie is survived by her husband Utry of Pratt; a son Stephen and wife Debbie, Pratt; two brothers, Troma and wife Ruby, Caruthersville, Mo., and Don and wife Deana, Dexter, Mo.; two grandchildren, Mark Triplett and wife Lindsay, Andover, and Tara Triplett, Pratt; two great-grandchildren, Madison Grace Triplett and Sydney Marie Triplett, Andover; three nieces, three nephews and numerous friends.  
Marie was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Kenneth Jones.  
Marie was a member of the Pratt Church of Christ and a memorial celebration service in her honor will be held at the church building, 320 Country Club Road, Saturday, Feb. 6 at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name to South Wind Hospice, 126 S. Main, Pratt, KS 67124, are encouraged.
