I have been concerned about the closing of Haskins Elementary School.
I have read that it will save about $200,000 a year. Won’t the new school need all the same things that Haskins does — cooling, heating, teachers, plus building and transportation of students across town?
It would need to be build and paid for. We already have a nice brick and mortar building with a nice playground in the north end of town where there is a lot of children within walking distance.
The city is extending Maple Street hoping for a new addition in the north end of town where Haskins is. It’s a nice looking structure in a good neighborhood.
I ask the citizens of Pratt to think carefully and take action to save a nice school that’s paid for.
Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
