I just wanted to let you know that you have as fine a sports page as any newspaper in the area. We have read your sports page for several years as our daughter and son-in-law are Brenda and Scott Richardson, residents of your fine community.
We began reading sports from the Tribune when our granddaughter Sara played basketball and volleyball while attending Pratt public schools. More recently, we have followed our grandson Brad throughout his junior high and high school years playing football, basketball and baseball. Clippings have been sent to us religiously by our daughter on all of the games, even those we attended in Pratt or elsewhere. The coverage and pictures of your sports writers are exceptional for a town the size of Pratt.
This past baseball season has been an exciting one, with the Greenbacks finishing 18-5, and then the 86ers winning 33 games while losing only five. What a great summer season for the boys. They won several tournaments including the Double A Legion tournament in Marysville, before going to the Divisional National Tournament in Minnesota, losing in the championship game in the last inning of the game. Wow!!
The boys were fortunate to have Coach Siroky and Coach Lippoldt, who have done an exceptional job replacing “Smoky” Ford. Dick Anderson and several other folks did a good job all year in keeping the fans up to the moment in broadcasting all sporting events.
Again thank you for the great job that you and your staff provide to your readers.
