The main room of the Pratt Public Library looks like a big empty cave but patrons are keeping the staff busy during their renovation.

Fair but firm is Tracey Beverlin’s attitude to the drug problem in Pratt. Beverlin, who is running for Pratt County attorney, is willing to work with people that are wiling take advantage of assistance.

The Barron Theatre, closed since 2013, will serve a purpose within the community again — not for first-run movies, but as a meeting place for Youth For Christ students.

A Community Grant opportunity is available to nonprofit organizations in Barber, Comanche, Kingman, Kiowa, Pratt, Rice, and Stafford counties through South Central Community Foundation (SCCF).

The American Legion Riders will host a fireworks display at the Pratt County Veteran’s Memorial Lake on Sunday, July 3. The display will start after dark.

Sheryl White will present a concert Wednesday that’s part history, part old-time spiritual and part just plain fun sing-along. It is at 7 p.m. July 29 at Pratt Community College Carpenter Auditorium.
